Mammogram recommendations change drastically: This scares me

A government task force reversed long-standing recommendations on when women should start having mammograms and how often they should have them. According to the new standards, women should start having mammograms at age 50 rather than at 40, and should have them every two years. Just as shocking, the task force said breast self-exams are not effective and women should not be instructed to do them monthly.
